Two Canadians, James Crawford and Brodie Seger, respectively occupy the 2nd and 3rd ranks halfway through the alpine combined, which began Thursday at the Beijing Olympics.
Continuing the momentum of the start of the Olympics, Crawford reached the finish with a time only two hundredths slower than the leader, the Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde.
Earlier this week, Crawford, a 24-year-old Torontonian, finished 4th in the downhill and 6th in the Super-G.
His compatriot Brodie Seger also had success in his downhill, finishing 40 hundredths behind Crawford, which earned him 3rd place.
The slalom stage is currently underway. The accumulation of their times will decide the final classification.
