Canada’s men’s team kicks off its Olympic tournament with a matchup against Germany around 8:00 am Thursday morning.
In this Olympic tournament, which does not include NHL players, representatives of the Maple Leaf have made it clear in recent days that they want to be taken seriously in this competition. Forward Eric Staal hopes to lead his group to great honours.
It’s sort of a revenge match for Canada, which lost to Germany in the semi-finals at the PyeongChang Olympics. The Canadians then had to settle for a bronze medal.
After this clash, Canada will face the United States before closing its Group A round robin with a duel against China.
The United States and China also meet on Thursday morning.
