The nfl week six It was a great showcase for the top two teams in his Power Rankings The SportingNews further demonstrate to a large audience. As for other established playoff contenders in the NFC and AFC, it’s been a rough week.
There is no change in the top teams in each conference as the Eagles and Bills won huge games against their rivals. The NFC divisional matchups have tightened across the board, while there is more cloud over the AFC wild-card landscape.
With that in mind and considering the four teams on vacation, Here are the 32-team Week 7 standings.
NFL Power Rankings Week 7
1. Philadelphia Eagles 6-0 (previous ranking: 1)
The Eagles came out against the Cowboys with a more efficient, explosive and balanced offense. They backed it up with a defense from Darius with a sharp pass “Big Play” Slay and others to make Cooper Rush crash to earth. But they still need to work on finishing games as well as starting them to remain unbeaten.
2. Buffalo Bills 5-1 (2)
The Bills made their share of offensive mistakes with Josh Allen against a Chiefs defense that played, but in the end, Von Miller’s pass rush and active secondary made the difference against Patrick Mahomes. There is no doubt that they are now the heavy favorite for the AFC Championship.
3. Kansas City Chiefs 4-2 (3)
The Chiefs battled hard against the Bills under Mahomes, managing just one possession. Mahomes faced Buffalo’s best defense, but it’s encouraging for a potential rematch that Kansas City’s defense held up well.
4. New York Giants 5-1 (7)
The Giants can only be considered “really” one game behind the Eagles with their only loss to the Cowboys. They took advantage of the weak schedule early, but wins against the Packers and Ravens sealed their inspired arrival under Coach of the Year Brian Daboll.
5. Minnesota Vikings 5-1 (8)
Daboll’s biggest competition may come from another offensive lineman. Kevin O’Connell has unlocked the Vikings to be more explosive around Kirk Cousins with Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen and Irv Smith Jr. They are a strong threat to steal the NFC North from the Packers, who they beat convincingly in Week 1.
6. Los Angeles Chargers 4-2 (10)
The Chargers are quietly battling through their injury streak offensively and defensively to move to two games over .500. They got enough from Justin Herbert and Austin Ekeler on Monday night against the thuggish Broncos.
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-3 (4)
The Bucs were poorly executed on offense by Tom Brady while the defense did what they could. Tampa Bay needs to find its explosiveness to do more than win the weak NFC South.
8. San Francisco 49ers 3-3 (5)
The 49ers went from Carolina to Atlanta with a stop in West Virginia and forgot how to protect the ball and work through a weak defense. Maybe they were thinking about the Super Bowl rematch against the Chiefs?
9. Dallas Cowboys 4-2 (6)
The Cowboys struggled in the second half to pressure the Eagles, but they missed the extra firepower they have with Dak Prescott. You have to give credit to the defense that fought hard to facilitate a potential comeback that didn’t happen.
10. Tennessee Titans 3-2 (13)
The Titans enjoyed the bye with a three-game winning streak to rest Derrick Henry. Their defense is finding its usual strength despite talent limitations, and Ryan Tannehill is drowning out any noise from losing his job.
