“We need to make an alternative to the Olympic Games and not pay attention to what is happening in the IOC” – Wiener

The President of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (VFCG) and the head coach of the Russian national team Irina Viner urged not to pay attention to the statements of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

On Wednesday, IOC President Thomas Bach, speaking at the General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) in Seoul, said that the organization continues to recommend that international federations not allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in their competitions. According to him, this wish allows him to defend the Olympic mission, although it was given to him with great difficulty.

“It doesn’t concern me at all. We are fine. We hold our own competitions, both internally and with countries that are members of the BRICS and SCO. We have 500 events planned with China this year. Xi Jinping and Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports. We need to make an alternative to the Olympic Games and not pay any attention to what is happening there in the IOC.

We had the strongest team in the world in rhythmic gymnastics, so it is. Now it has become even stronger due to the fact that we compete according to our own rules, according to which Alina Kabaeva, Irina Chashchina, Evgenia Kanaeva used to compete. We now have 15 people fighting nose to nose, the competition is fierce, – quotes Wiener RT.
