The International Ski Federation extended the suspension of the Russians
The International Ski Federation (FIS) has officially extended the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions under its auspices for an indefinite period.
The decision was made on Saturday at a board meeting. FIS.
In a release on the federation’s website, it is noted that the FIS Council “for the safety of all participants”, and in accordance with the recommendations of the IOC, decided to extend the suspension of Russian and Belarusian teams and athletes from competitions under the auspices of the FIS.
In March, the FIS suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions until the end of the 2021/22 season due to the situation in Ukraine. The ban was later extended to the summer season.
At the end of February, the IOC executive committee recommended that international federations not allow Russians and Belarusians to compete under their auspices.
