Norwegian Marte Olsbu Roeiseland won her third Olympic title at the 2022 Olympics in Beijing on Sunday, crushing the pursuit (10 km), two days after her crowning in the sprint and a week after the victory with the mixed relay, on the site of Zhangjiakou.

Starting with a lead of around thirty seconds over her first pursuer, the Swedish Elvira Oeberg, Roeiseland achieved a 19/20 in the falling snow. Silver went to Elvira Oeberg, relegated to more than a minute and a half, and bronze to another Norwegian, Tiril Eckhoff.

After clearing her last five targets, Marte Olsbu Roeiseland left the shooting range all smiles, assured of another gold medal in China, while her rivals had not yet pointed the tip of their noses behind her.

By adding the individual bronze medal, Roeiseland climbed on the four podiums of the Olympic Games-2022 and can dream of an incredible grand slam, while she will still compete in the women’s relay on Wednesday (4×6 km) and the mass start. Saturday (12.5 km). On one edition of the Games, Roeiseland is already the most decorated and most successful biathlete.

At the 2020 Worlds in Anterselva (Italy), she had accomplished this grand slam, winning seven medals out of seven possible, including five in gold (sprint, mass start, relay, mixed relay, single mixed relay).

Canadian Emma Lunder finished 54th.
