The Canadians remain in the race for the podium in the two-man bobsleigh, but did not quite obtain the expected results on Monday at the Beijing Games.

Defending Olympic champion Justin Kripps, who now competes with Cameron Stones, took 10th place after the first two races following some pilot errors. They are 1.31 seconds behind German leaders Francesco Friedrich and Thorsten Margis, who are closely followed by their compatriots and other world power Johannes Lochner and Florian Bauer (+0.15).

Good news, however, for the duo of Chris Spring and Mike Evelyn (+1.19) who were able to do better than Canada 1 by finishing eighth.

Canada 3, formed by Taylor Austin and Daniel Sunderland, finished the day in 20th place and last place giving access to the final heats.

These decisive rounds 3 and 4 will take place on Tuesday morning.
