Canada’s women’s team qualified for the pursuit final in long track speed skating on Tuesday at the Beijing Olympics.
The Canadians unsurprisingly beat the Netherlands, a powerhouse more individually than as a team.
Canada and Japan will face off in the final at the National Speed Skating Oval.
The Japanese defeated the representatives of the Olympic Committee of Russia in the other semi-final.
Isabelle Weidmann will therefore have the opportunity to add a third medal after winning a silver (5000 m) and a bronze (3000 m) solo.
Ivanie Blondin and Valérie Maltais will be looking for their first of these Olympic Games around 3:30 a.m.
