Fantasy NFL RB rankings Week 12: Who to bench and who to sit?

As there are no teams in the break, the owners of his teams Fantasy NFL that have not been damaged by injuries will have a buffet of choices on the run in Week 12. Sometimes that’s a blessing and a curse, as it means more decisions that could potentially go wrong during a critical stretch of the season. That’s where our RB ranking comes in.

The star players in our top 10 are so obvious they don’t need mentioning, like turkey and ham in Eucharist and Christmas. We will mention, however, that Jeff Wilson Jr. (vs. the Texans in Week 12) deserves to be up there with the elite names this week. JWJ looked impressive in his Dolphins debut after Miami reunited him with former Niners OC/RB guru Mike McDaniel. Now he has a full week off to practice with the worst defense in football. It’s time to feast – and there should be plenty of leftovers for fellow racer Raheem Mostert.

James Conner (vs. Chargers) is also a worthy member of our top 15 as he finally appears healthy and faces a Bolts D that has allowed the third-most rushing yards and sixth-most TDs of his career. With Eno Benjamin out of town, Conner is even more attractive than Travis Etienne Jr. (vs. Ravens) and Alvin Kamara (@49ers). All three will have volume on their side, but we like Conner by nose in standard leagues.

Speaking of volume, Devin Singletary (@Lions) has a huge lead going into Buffalo’s second game at Detroit in a week. Josh Allen’s midseason demotion has indirectly benefited Singletary, as he sees opportunities in the red zone that aren’t usually smelled when Allen is cooking. The same can be said for Rachaad White (against the Browns), who has benefited from Leonard Fournette’s struggles in Tampa. Both will have to eat against a Cleveland D that allowed two RBs (Singletary and rookie James Cook) to record exactly 86 rushing yards. Fournette remains a solid RB2/flex and Cook even has a slight flex advantage this week thanks to the extremely favorable matchup.

No more worrying about Cowboys portion control Tony Pollard (vs. Giants): The fourth-year running back has been the most explosive RB in football in weeks and dominated even with teammate Ezekiel Elliott returning from injury against Minnesota. He’s a high-on-the-floor, high-ceiling option the rest of the way, which is more than can be said for Miles Sanders (vs. Packers), Dameon Pierce (@Dolphins), Michael Carter (vs. Bears) and Brian Robinson Jr. (against the Falcons). You’ll likely start playing these guys if they’re on your roster, but it’ll be hard to feel confident with any of them after their performances in Week 11. However, Carter and Robinson have good combinations, so we still see them as flexes for sure, while Sanders and Pierce should have enough intensity to call as RB2/flexes.

If the football gods let us see Gus Edwards (@Jaguars), we should be thankful. He missed in Baltimore’s disappointing win over Carolina in Week 11. We also expect to see more of Antonio Gibson (vs. Falcons), who at this point is clearly the better option over Robinson’s candidate, as ham is better from the turkey. Gibby had 100 rushing yards against Houston, while B-Rob finished with 57 yards on 15 carries. Dime.

Rhamondre Stevenson ( @Vikings ) is taking a bit of a beating from his performance in Week 11, but we think it had more to do with New York’s great play than Stevenson’s crap. He’s still heavily involved in the Patriots offense and we expect him to be a viable RB2, while teammate Damien Harris will be a decent flex option in standard formations. Pollard and Elliott combined for 236 total yards and four TDs against Minnesota last week, so we think Stevenson and Harris can do some damage as well.

Look out for D’Onta Foreman (vs. Broncos), Isiah Pacheco (vs. Rams), Cam Akers (vs. Chiefs) and James Robinson (vs. Bears). Foreman had 24 yards on 11 carries against Baltimore in Week 11, and the Broncos’ defense has held five teams to 88 or fewer rushing yards this season. Pacheco faces a Rams team that held Alvin Kamara to 42 yards in Week 11, and we never know what to expect from Eric Bieniemy’s running game. Speaking of not knowing what to expect, what Akers will we get from week to week? All we know is that Darrell Henderson Jr. and Kyren Williams are useless right now. And is James Robinson still good? He and Michael Carter gave up a carry to Ty Montgomery in Week 11 against the Patriots as neither leader was able to reach 20 yards. Underutilized D’Andre Swift (vs. Bills) is also a huge threat in all formats, especially in standard leagues.
