The NFL Week 12 It begins with a duel between two teams with winning records and clear ambitions to qualify for the Playoffs: Minnesota Vikings (8-2) receives New England Patriots (6-4). Thursday night footballthe final game on a packed Thursday promises plenty of action.
Sports news presents bets, predictions and picks to make the game more exciting.
Minnesota Vikings (1.71 to 1)
If what happened in Week 11 hadn’t happened, the Minnesota Vikings would have paid much less. However, the crushing 40-3 loss to the Dallas Cowboys set off some alarms in the NFC North-leading squad. The offense was slow (Kirk Cousins was sacked a career-high seven times) and the defense was destroyed. The New England Patriots seem like a good test to bounce back from.
Besides the fact that those led by the legendary Bill Belichick won their last three games, the successes were against young teams: they beat the New York Jets twice and the Indianapolis Colts once. The betting line is on Vikings -2.5 but ML betting sounds safer in an even match.
Dalvin Cook +74.5 rushing yards (1.90 to 1)
The Minnesota Vikings offense has two names considered stars: the running back; Davin the cook and the wide receiver Justin Jefferson. The former is having a great season and is very likely to continue his good run and Thursday Night Football. He will be up against some Pats who knew how to defend the game well and only allowed two TDs in doing so.
Looking at the least feasible scoring option, the best bet is to go for the number of yards: The line currently sits at 74.5. Against the Dallas Cowboys, with just 11 carries, he finished with 72. Every time he’s caught the ball more than 13 times, he’s surpassed that number, and against the Patriots he’ll have a lot of work to do. His only record against New England is also favorable: He rushed for 84 yards for them in 2018.
Under 490.5 passing yards (1.86 to 1)
As explained above, Dalvin Cook is one of the Minnesota Vikings’ most important pieces and will be used heavily against the New England Patriots. That’s why Kirk Cousins’ passing ability will be diminished. The same will happen on the road: Rhamondre Stevenson found a way to speed up Mac Jones’ poor offense.
Cousins’ yards per game average in 2022 is 246 yards, while Jones’ is 198. This bet will only lose if both QBs perform above their potential.
