Canada finds itself in position for a podium finish after the first two runs of the women’s 2-man sled on Friday at the Beijing Games.
Fifth after the first race, Christine de Bruin and Kristen Bujnowski chipped away at a few precious hundredths of a second to gain a place, in addition to taking advantage of a rare error by the renowned Olympic champion Kaillie Humphries with her American partner Kaysha Love.
Other Canadians find themselves not far behind, in 8th place, namely Cynthia Appiah and Dawn Richardson Wilson.
Melissa Lotholz and Sara Villani are 16th.
The German domination continues in bobsleigh, monopolizing the first two places.
The last two rounds will take place starting at 7 a.m. Saturday.
