Mikhail Shashilov, head coach of the Russian women’s biathlon team, believes that it is easier to prepare for the season in groups, and his position in the national team is not needed.
– Are you a head coach?
— Yes, so far. No one fired me, no one talked to me and asked me to resign. I will never be without a job.
– Would you be interested in just having a group in the national team, and not being a senior?
— I don’t think that today we need the position of a head coach. I think it’s easier to break into groups. Maybe like skiers. We will proceed from what tasks the Ministry of Sports and the CSP will set. They order the music. Set a goal in preparation for the Olympics, then go ahead. Hence the formation of the team, and the training process. There is nothing difficult: everything is as always.
