The candidate for the head of the RRF believes that there is no way to live on the salary of biathletes in the regions

Vice-President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Alexei Nuzhdov believes that the base rates in the regional ministries of sports do not fully cover the biathletes’ daily needs.

Russian biathletes were suspended from international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine. Nuzhdov was nominated for the post of head of the RRF. In April, he told Match TV that a preliminary election conference would be held at the end of June.

– It is necessary to raise funds for the stages of the Russian Cup. The athletes at the World Cup and the IBU Cup had the opportunity to earn money to justify the workload. We have a base rate in any regional ministries of sports, such as, for example, Goreeva, 22 thousand (roubles). I’m not saying it’s not enough, it’s just a base. Living on a salary is not an option. You can love biathlon as much as you like, but you live on 22 thousand. At the checkout in the supermarket and then they give 35 thousand. Dissonance, agree. This issue needs to be addressed. How to solve it, I know. Our previous presidents talked about billions, the other about hundreds of millions, I call a spade a spade: as I say, so I will do,” Nuzhdov told reporters.
