The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has confirmed that Russian athletes will not compete at the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Russian Ski Federation announced that the FIS had extended the suspension of Russian athletes from participation in competitions.
“The FIS Council voted on Tuesday not to facilitate the participation of athletes from Russia and Belarus as individual neutrals (AIN) in the FIS qualifying competitions for the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games,” the FIS statement said.
Russian athletes have been suspended from participation in competitions under the auspices of the FIS since 2022. The 2026 Olympics will take place on February 6–22, and the Paralympics on March 6–15. The competition will take place in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
