Russian biathlete Maxim Tsvetkov spoke about the support his wife provided him.

Tsvetkov replied whether his wife forbade him from discussing past races. “Of course not! We have an open relationship. If you want to say something, say it. It’s not the fact that he will always say that I did everything well. I also listen to his criticism calmly. By the way, he does not like to watch competitions while running, because at some moments the emotions get depressed. But every time We always communicate after the races. I tell him how I run, how I feel. For me family support is the most important thing.

If my family hadn’t supported me at my most difficult time, I probably wouldn’t be here right now. But in general, I am my own chief judge and head coach. But in the first race of the Olympics, when everything was decided with a miss on the last shot, the first person I spoke to after a disappointing fourth place was my wife. With her, I could afford not to hold back my feelings. And I can’t open one hundred percent in meetings within the team or even in conversations. Especially when emotions are too heavy for me,” Tsvetkov said in an interview with 35Media.

Maxim Tsvetkov, 30, won a bronze medal in the men’s relay at the 2022 Olympics.
