Head of the Russian Snowboard Federation Tikhomirov: “We really hoped for admission to the Olympics, but, alas, the situation has not changed”
President of the Russian Snowboard Federation (FSR) Denis Tikhomirov expressed disappointment with the decision to exclude Russian snowboarders from the Olympics in Italy.
On Tuesday, the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) extended the suspension of Russian athletes from participation in competitions. Russian skiers will not be able to compete at the Olympic Games in Italy.
“We are very sorry that FIS made such a decision. This is not the first year. We really hoped for admission, but, alas, the situation has not changed,” Tikhomirov told VseProSport.
Russian athletes have been suspended from participation in competitions under the auspices of the FIS since 2022.
The 2026 Winter Olympics will take place from 6 to 22 February in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
