Degtyarev presented state awards to Russian winners and medalists of the Paralympic Games in Paris
The Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Mikhail Degtyarev, on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, presented state awards to the winners and medalists of the 2024 Summer Paralympic Games in Paris.
Russian athletes who competed at the 2024 Paralympics in neutral status won 20 gold, 21 silver and 23 bronze medals.
— On behalf of Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, he presented state awards – the Order of Honor and medals of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland – to the Russian winners and medalists of the XVII Paralympic Summer Games in Paris, as well as their coaches and other specialists.
The President has repeatedly emphasized that our brilliant Paralympians set an example of courage for all of us, and the task of the state is to show more care and provide more opportunities for people with disabilities, including in the sports field,” Degtyarev wrote on the Telegram channel.
The minister recalled that the main ceremony of presenting state awards to Paralympic participants took place in the Kremlin in December last year. The award ceremony took place on Thursday on the sidelines of the VIII Congress of the All-Russian Trade Union of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Workers of Russia.
