Korostelev may not return to Russia after performing at the World Cup in Davos and will continue training in Europe

Russian skier Savely Korostelev said on Match TV that he may not return to Russia after competing at the World Cup in Davos and will continue training in Europe.

On Wednesday it became known that Russian skiers Korostelev and Daria Nepryaeva received neutral status from the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) to participate in the qualifying competitions for the 2026 Olympic Games.

— You won’t return to Russia?

“I can’t say now where I’ll be after Davos.” This point is under discussion.

— The optimal option is to stay there. No?

– Probably yes. But several options are being considered. This one is not final yet.

— Even from the point of view of minimizing flights.

– I agree with this. But everything is under discussion,” Korostelev said on Match TV.

The World Cup stage in Davos, Switzerland will take place from December 12 to 14. This is the final start where Russians can qualify for the Olympic Games, which will be held from February 6 to 22, 2026 in Italy.
