Korostelev: “There were many Russian fans in Davos, and there were also foreigners who supported”
Russian skier Savely Korostelev spoke on Match TV about support at the World Cup stage in Davos (Switzerland).
Earlier, Korostelev and Daria Nepryaeva, who received neutral status from the FIS, performed at the World Cup in Davos. This was the first international start for Russians since 2022. Athletes won quotas to participate in the sprint, skiathlon, time trial and marathon at the Olympics in Italy.
— There were quite a lot of Russian fans in Davos, Nikita Kryukov came. Before the sprint, I did an evening training session, and when I was skating with the Italians, I heard Russian speech. I was a little scared because it was a little unexpected, they addressed me by name and wished me good luck in the sprint. There were also foreigners who do not participate in the World Cup, they also supported me,” the skier said on Match TV.
Korostelev is preparing to compete at the Tour de Ski stage race, which will take place in Italy from December 28 to January 4.
