Actor Jackie Chan carried the Olympic flame through the ancient ruins of Pompeii during the torch relay for the 2026 Games in Italy, the press service of the International Olympic Committee reports.
71-year-old Jackie Chan took part in the Olympic torch relay for the fourth time.
“I am honored to be the torchbearer again.” Every time I carry the Olympic flame, it is not just a torch, it is the spirit of sport, of humanity. You are transmitting more than just fire. “You convey peace and love,” the actor said.
The Olympic torch relay started on November 26 in Ancient Olympia. It will last two months and cover all Italian provinces. The relay will end on February 6 in Milan, the opening ceremony of the games will take place at the San Siro stadium.
The 2026 Olympics will take place in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo from 6 to 22 February.
