The IOC sent invitations to Russian short track speed skaters Posashkov and Krylova to participate in the 2026 Olympics

Russian short track speed skaters Ivan Posashkov and Alena Krylova have received invitations from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to participate in the 2026 Olympics in Italy, the organization’s press service reports.

Posashkov and Krylova last year participated in the stages of the World Tour, where the Olympic selection took place. Posashkov competed at a distance of 1000 meters, Krylova – at a distance of 500 meters. Earlier, the President of the Russian Skating Union Nikolai Gulyaev said on Match TV that only two Russian athletes can compete in short track speed skating at the Olympics if they manage to qualify.

Earlier, invitations from the IOC were accepted by Russian figure skaters Pyotr Gumennik and Adelia Petrosyan, who won the qualifying tournament for the Games, and ski mountaineer Nikita Filippov.

The Olympic Games will take place from 6 to 22 February in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
