Two-time Olympic champion Vic Wild said that he is preparing former snowboarder of the Russian national team Dmitry Sarsembayev to participate in the Olympic Games in Italy.
Sarsembayev changed his Russian sports citizenship to Uzbek in June 2025. The 28-year-old athlete is a two-time world champion among juniors (2016, 2017), winner of the 2019 Universiade, and participant in the 2018 Olympics.
— I’ve been training at the World Cup for a month. I work with former Russian athlete Dmitry Sarsembayev, now we are in Austria. He missed 18 of 21 or so qualifying events. But we hope he can qualify for the Olympics. Sarsembayev plans to compete at all remaining stages of the World Cup. “I took this job for one month only to send Dmitry to the Olympics,” VseProSport quotes Wild.
The Olympic Games will take place from 6 to 22 February in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
