Bolshunov won his first victory of the season, becoming the best in the time trial at the Russian Cup stage in Kazan
Alexander Bolshunov won the freestyle time trial race at the sixth stage of the PhosAgro Russian Cup in Kazan.
Bolshunov covered the distance of 15 kilometers in 32 minutes 22.2 seconds. Egor Mitroshin took second place (16.9 seconds back), Ivan Gorbunov took third (+30.7 seconds).
For three-time Olympic champion Bolshunov, this victory was the first in the 2025/26 season at all-Russian competitions.
On Saturday, the men’s and women’s sprints will be held at the stage of the Russian Cup in cross-country skiing in Kazan.
