Guberniev promised to give Bolshunov a Bentley if he heads the FLGR

Commentator and presenter of Match TV Dmitry Guberniev promised to give three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov an expensive car if he becomes president of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR).

On Thursday, Bolshunov won the 15 km freestyle time trial at the PhosAgro Russian Cup stage in Kazan and climbed to the highest step of the podium for the first time this season.

– Bolshunov won! This is how it should be – the strongest skier in Russia and one of the strongest in the world showed his class and responded to his ill-wishers. Bravo, Alexander Bolshunov! I’ll head the FLGR and give Bolshunov a Bentley. Deserved – Guberniev wrote in his Telegram channel.

Previously, Guberniev announced his intentions to nominate his candidacy for the election of the head of the FLGR; Elena Vyalbe has headed the federation since 2010.

On Saturday, the men’s and women’s sprints will be held at the stage of the Russian Cup in cross-country skiing in Kazan.

Ex-skater Klimov on missing the 2018 Olympic Games: “I won’t say that I felt a strong upset, but rather total devastation”

Former figure skater Fedor Klimov spoke about how he coped with missing the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.

Klimov, performing in tandem with Ksenia Stolbova, won a gold medal at the 2014 Olympic Games and also became a three-time Russian champion. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) did not allow the couple to participate in the 2018 Olympic Games.

— In general, I didn’t follow what was happening at the Games. And even then I didn’t rewatch the performances. I knew from hearsay what was happening and how, but nothing more. For me, this start didn’t exist; I couldn’t bring myself to be interested in it. I won’t say that I felt any strong upset, but rather total devastation. There were no emotions at all,” Klimov told RT.

Some time after missing the 2018 Olympics, the athlete retired. After that he started working as a coach.
