Biathlete Boldyreva talks about her victory at the Commonwealth Cup stage: “Completely satisfied with myself”
Russian biathlete Margarita Boldyreva said that the sprint race at the fourth stage of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Biathlon Cup in Raubichi (Belarus) turned out great for her.
On Friday, Boldyreva won gold in the sprint; the athlete covered the 7.5 km distance in 23 minutes 58 seconds, making one mistake at two shooting ranges. The second was another representative of Russia, Anastasia Tomshina (lag – 21.2 seconds, 1 miss), the top three was rounded out by Russian Anastasia Khalili (+21.2 seconds, 2 misses).
— Was the condition as severe as possible? Yes, it happened. As they say, be afraid of the sick and pregnant women. This is true.
I won’t be so strict and critical of myself. The race turned out great for me both shooting-wise and physically. Everything was fine along the way. We managed to work at the milestone both in terms of speed and quality. “I’m completely satisfied with myself,” RT quotes Boldyreva as saying.
Boldyreva also told what the difference is between junior and adult biathlon.
— Do you feel the difference? It’s very noticeable. It is in professionalism, experience, attitude to one’s health and approach to training. A very big difference. Are the juniors stupid? Well, to put it bluntly, yes. But for adults, everything is completely different. “People take things much more seriously, analyze every little detail, not to mention fundamental things,” the athlete noted.
On Saturday, women’s and men’s pursuit races will be held in Raubichi.
