Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Tatyana Sorina said that the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) refused to grant her neutral status.

Sorina is 31 years old. She is the winner of the 2022 Games, the silver medalist of the 2021 World Championship, and a five-time Russian champion.

— Yes, I applied. I assumed that they would refuse me, but I would like written confirmation. Another question is that I wanted to go to the Games specifically for medals. Well, yes, we were hoping for a more favorable solution. On the other hand, if I were in super shape now, I would probably only think about this. But my condition is not such that I would be very upset about not participating in the Games,” RT quotes Sorina.

The Olympics will take place from 6 to 22 February in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo.
