“I left the last Olympics unsatisfied. I was preparing for a personal medal that season, but I never reached peak form. I don’t even remember where I finished in the personal races. In the relay, we initially had a big chance: a month and a half before the Games, we won the relay at the World Cup in Lillehammer and roughly understood that the composition would remain the same, and therefore the chances would not become less.
But, of course, I wanted a personal medal. But it didn’t happen. She came closest in the mass start, but remained fifth. Sorina is 31 years old, she is a silver medalist at the 2021 World Championships, a five-time Russian champion.
