Figure skater Efimova is now German: she played for Russia and Finland, often dropped out due to psychology

Alisa Efimova She was born in Finland, where she started taking her first figure skating steps. Like everyone else, I started with single skating and even went to training camps. Alexey Mishin. But I always dreamed of a couple. And since there were practically no hotbeds and trainers in the homeland, Alice, after two junior seasons as a single skater, nevertheless decided to fulfill her dream: she changed her sports citizenship to Russian and moved to Moscow.

With Alexander Korovin Alice, St. Petersburg, they became a couple. In their first joint season, they unexpectedly took the silver of the Russian Cup final, and a year later moved into the group of Olympic champions. Oleg Vasiliev. However, the couple could not at least get to the Russian top – Alice very often fell out at the competitions.

“I didn’t have the stability to jump. The sole created with a single skate began to separate. I seem to be able to do everything, everything went well in training, but at the decisive moment there were malfunctions. These are already psychological difficulties, perhaps an abundance. In training, it happens when something goes wrong, you do it over and over. You make a mistake and keep working until you make it perfect. As a result, a lot accumulates, you get upset and stop hearing about your body.– Efimova announced Match TV.

The main tournament in the career of Efimova / Korovin was the Universiade in Krasnoyarsk – among four pairs, the Russian was the first.

After another failure at the 2020 Russian Championship, Alexander decided to break up with Alice, as he felt there was no point in continuing to study together. Efimova left the Vasiliev group and deliberately began to train jumps. In September 2020, Alice matched with a German. Ruben Blommaert received official permission to change the flag the other day. And already in the next season, Alisa and Ruben will begin to represent Germany at international competitions.

“Reuben and I are ready for a full season! We’ll start with the Nebelhorn Trophy in September, followed by another Series B Challenger. The Grand Prix is unlikely because we don’t have a shared rating yet. Next is the German Championship, and there it all depends on the choice of the main competitions. Although there is serious competition in the national team, of course we are targeting the World and European Championships: Minerva Haze and Nolan Zegert, Annika Hokke and Robert Kunkel. Then there are the young couple Laetitia Roscher and Luis Schuster, who will most likely now move on to the next level. The country only has two quotas so it will be a struggle. Here is the program. If there is an opportunity, we will take the stage in other competitions from time to time.

Our main goal with Ruben is the 2026 Olympic Games. We thought of everything in order to perform there, we overcame the difficulties. We don’t think about the future.”– said Alice Match TV.
