The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation made a statement about information about the pressure on voters in connection with the upcoming election of the head of the Russian Biathlon Union.

Earlier, the head of the Tatarstan Biathlon Federation Ildar Nugmanov said that he was forced by the Ministry of Sports to vote for Viktor Maigurov.

“The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation is a federal executive body responsible for the development and implementation of state policy in the field of physical culture and sports.

The Russian Ministry of Sports is guided in its activities by the Constitution of the Russian Federation, federal constitutional laws, federal laws, laws of the President and Government of the Russian Federation, international treaties of the Russian Federation and Regulations. on the Ministry.

According to Article 17 of the Federal Law 82-FZ “On Public Associations”, interference of public institutions in the activities of public associations is not allowed.

The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation cannot interfere with the activities of the all-Russian public organization, cannot have any influence on the election of the head of the organization. The statements about the pressure exerted by the Russian Ministry of Sports do not match the facts.

The election of the head of the Russian Biathlon Union is carried out in accordance with the Statutes of the organization. The Ministry of Sports of Russia will interact with the leadership of the RBU, which will be selected after the results of the reporting and selection conference.
