The serviceman who had a hand in the success of Russian biathletes at the 2022 Olympics dies at the age of 53

The serviceman of the Russian biathlon team Evgeny Permyakov died at the age of 54, according to the website of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU).

Permyakov died after a long illness, in 2020 he was diagnosed with cancer.

– On July 15, at about 22:00, our friend and colleague, the serviceman of the Russian national team, Evgeny Permyakov, passed away. He was only 53 years old. The Russian Biathlon Union and the entire biathlon family express their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Evgeny.

Since 2009, Permyakov has led the service team of the Russian national team at the IBU Cup, European Championships and junior competitions. The specialist developed the structures on which Russian biathletes ran races at the 2022 Olympics. Russian biathletes brought one silver and three bronze medals from Beijing.
