“Few biathletes in our country can boast of such talent” – Tcherezov about the deceased Malinovsky
Three-time biathlon world champion Ivan Cherezov spoke about the death of ex-biathlete Igor Malinovsky.
On Sunday, the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) confirmed that Malinovsky died in a helicopter crash in Kamchatka. He was 25 years old.
– He is a guy from Kamchatka, all the more he loved the sky, he studied at the helicopter school. It is clear that it was his love, passion, just like biathlon, probably. But in biathlon, he showed great results as a junior. Well, and, probably, now, he was drawn to the sky. Moreover, the opportunity was to fly.
Such an open, bright guy, with a beautiful smile. He, in my opinion, was the absolute world champion. Few of our biathletes can boast of such a result and such talent. He was the best junior in his lifetime. Yes, it didn’t work out in big sport. It’s a pity, of course, this is a huge misfortune, a great grief. First of all, of course, for the family, for relatives and friends, and for us, for the biathlon world, – RBC Sport quotes Cherezov.
