The state of Texas is one of the most populous in the United States and has a large number of sports teams. The NFL is dominated by the Dallas Cowboys, though Houston Texans is slowly gaining popularity in the American league.
Founded on October 6, 1999, the franchise entered the league in 2002, being the youngest. Although it is not the first to pass through Houston: from 1960 to 1996 the Houston Oilers competed, which from 1999 became the Tennessee Titans.
How many titles have the Houston Texans won?
To date, the franchise has not achieved the expected results and has not added any titles or Super Bowl appearances. The 2022 season doesn’t promise to be the one that ends the streak: it has very little material and is on track to become one of the worst records in the league. The sad record of not participating in the maximum game is shared with the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Texans have made the playoffs six times, most recently in 2019. They have never advanced past the division game and that has happened four times.
- 2011: After finishing with a 10-6 record in the AFC South, they beat the Cincinnati Bengals 31-10 in the wild card and then fell to the Baltimore Ravens 20-13.
- 2012: in the regular season they shined 12-4, then they would beat the Bengals again (19-13) and fall vs. New England Patriots 41-28.
- 2016: in the first game of the postseason they celebrated against the Oakland Raiders with 27-14 and the New England Patriots cut their streak with 34-16.
- 2019: after an agonizing celebration against the Buffalo Bills, the Kansas City Chiefs beat them 51-31.
