Champion of the Spartakiad in Sambo admitted that he believes in the Olympic prospects of his sport

Sambo wrestler Alexei Klyukin from Verkhnyaya Pyshma, who won the gold of the Spartakiad in the category up to 53 kg, after the final expressed confidence in the Olympic future of this sport and said that he had won all the bouts of the tournament ahead of schedule.

– Before that, you did not win the Spartakiad. How do you like the new title?

– Honorable. We can say that the second Russian championship was held in Kazan, it is somewhere close to major international competitions. The wrestlers participated were quite titled, in this sense I was a little surprised that the tournament was simple for me. Won all fights by submission and ahead of schedule.

“So much stronger than the others?”

– It’s not for me to judge, I can only speak about my experience and hard training.

– There is no feeling that you didn’t fight a little, overcoming everyone ahead of schedule?

– Victory overshadowed everything. When you lose, you can delve into yourself, and if you stand on a pedestal with gold, you experience only pleasure. We train for this moment.

Have you ever regretted choosing a non-Olympic sport?

– In no case. In this regard, we have everything ahead of us.
