The head coach of the Russian men’s team, Yuri Kaminsky, spoke about how he relates to changes in the composition of his training group.

Biathletes Karim Khalili and Daniil Serokhvostov had previously left the group of the 61-year-old specialist and joined the group of coach Artem Istomin.

– Why should I worry about changes in the composition of the group? In such cases, I live according to the proverb: a woman with a cart is easier for a mare (laughs). I gave a proverb only to describe the situation. In fact, I was fine with them. But let’s admit that today’s athletes have become less manageable than previous generations.

One of the most difficult to manage was Karim Khalili, he had a lot of all sorts of “wishlists” arose. Before the Olympics, I tried to settle all this, but now I would have acted more harshly. I am convinced that it was not necessary to let him go to the training camp in Livigno before the Olympics. In my opinion, this was a mistake. If you want to win, you must be able to say “no” to some of your desires, when you really want to say “yes,” Kaminsky quotes the words “Championship”.

On March 2, the IBU suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in competitions under the auspices of the organization. On March 29, the IBU suspended the membership of the RRF and the BSE.
