AEK – Olympiacos 25-22: Start on the right hand in the handball premiere for the Union against the red and white
AEK started their handball premier season on a positive note with a 25-22 win over Olympiakos at OAKA.
AEK welcomed Olympiakos to the handball premier matchday one. The Union was able to win 25:22 and took the first positive step. The Red-Whites stayed close in the first half but Alexis Albanos’ team managed to open their gap in the second half and claim the win.
From the first minutes of the game, AEK made sure to take the reins. However, the red and white stayed close and even equalized in the game on points. The first half ended with Union leading 13:11.
In the second half, AEK came out stronger and managed the longest lead of the game up to that point in the 40th minute with 17:13. The Union attack continued for the next few minutes and the difference reached +6.
The hosts were still ahead on the scoreboard. The Reds and Whites tried to counterattack towards the final, but it was AEK who celebrated the win.
