The media day of the Olympiakos/Xinis group handball team took place on Friday (23 September) in the training hall of the Peace and Friendship Stadium.

The Greek champion spoke to the press about this year’s season and gave the motto for winning the league and cup! The official photo shoot of the “Red and Whites” for the 2022/23 season took place at the same time as the media day.

Georg Karasavvidis:

“The goals for the new year are to win the championship again, but also the cup. We’ll see how it goes in Europe because the draw plays a big role there too, but our aim is to have a good course. The big difference now is that we are no longer outsiders. Now we are all called to grow together in a different role. And surely we dream of something better. The team can do more. Last year we won more people and we saw that in the Supercup game. Little by little they are very much part of the team, they are involved, they know the sport now, they help us and will also help us in small games that we often underestimate. And this is where people need to push a player whose day isn’t at 100%. In the derby for sure people will help, it was 50% of our team and in Europe I hope we get to the point of saying the same.”

Petros Kandylas:

“We have a very long and difficult season ahead of us, fortunately we are also playing in Europe this year, we will have games that will strengthen us as a team. It takes time, especially if we’re talking about attack, for the automations to come out, understand each other, it’s more difficult than defense. Robert Weber:
