Women’s Handball: European Cup victories for PAOK and OF Nea Ionia
PAOK defeated Metalurg again to advance to the third round of the European Cup, where OF are also targeting Nea Ionia after West Manejar’s 21-20 win.
PAOK qualified for the third round of the European Cup with a 20-31 win in Metalurgs Skopje after also winning the first game 26-17.
PAOK relied on speed right from the start, showed their superiority and easily reached the end result with polyphony in attack.

First step for OF Nea Ionia
New Ionia took a step towards qualifying, defeating IBV Vestmannaeyjar in Iceland 21-20 in the first match between the two teams for the second round of the European Cup. The repetition will take place tomorrow, Sunday (October 16th) at 5:00 p.m.
The Greek team had a “guardian angel” in goalkeeper Magda Kepesidou, who achieved an efficiency of 44% at home. Significantly, New Ionia was trailing 15:19 in the 51st minute, but managed the ultimate turnaround with Kumirova, Crnic and Davidovic finding offensive solutions.
Kumirova made the final 21-20 with 13 seconds left.
