Handball Premier: Diomedis – AEK stands out, difficult exit for Olympiakos
Back in action for the handball premier with the games of the 4th day of play, in which the top derby between Diomedis and AEK stands out.
With the PAOK vs. XANTH game in the Mikras Stadium on Saturday afternoon (October 22nd, 2:00 p.m.), the curtain rises on the fourth match day of the handball premier.
PAOK is undefeated with three wins in as many games against Doukas, Drama and Ionikos, while HANTH defeated Aeropos in the premiere but was then defeated by Diomedes and Vrilissia.
Of note is the presence of Apostolis Palaska, who will face PAOK for the first time as a HANTH athlete after wearing the jersey of the “Two Heads of the North” for 15 years.
On the HANTH side, on the other hand, playmakers Petridis and Sarafis, goalkeeper Samaras and pivot Nikos Sarigiannidis are missing, which makes Giorgos Mastorogiannis’ task even more difficult. At the PAOK camp, Panos Gousios keeps his athletes ready for battle and has no competition problems.
In a very interesting game, Diomedis Argos receives AEK on the 4th match day of the handball premier in Nea Kios. In reality, this is a top derby as the two teams along with PAOK are the only ones to have the absolute 3/3 and 6 points.
Diomedes has traditionally had very good results with AEK, especially at home. In a total of 26 games – in league, cup and Europe – in Argolis, the two teams have 12 wins each, while 2 games ended in a draw. In fact, over the past 9 years (11 games), Diomedes has 5 wins and AEK has 4 wins.
In the always difficult homeland of Aeropos Edessa, the champion Olympiacos SF/Omilos Xynis will be tested. The home team has one win, the guests two wins in the first three games of the championship. A demanding month with a difficult schedule follows for both teams.
Olympiacos has European matches but also matches with Diomedis, Vrilissia (away), PAOK and Drama (away), while Aeropos will play against Pylaia (away), Doukas (away), Diomedis, Vrilissia (away) and PAOK. At Aeropos, the linchpin Filosoglou fails.
