Bosnia – Greece 22-21: Qualified despite losing for the women’s national team in the World Cup playoffs
The women’s national handball team has qualified for the second round of the World Cup playoffs despite a 22:21 defeat against Bosnia.
The women’s national team celebrated a great qualification for the second phase of the 2023 World Cup playoffs. Our representative group suffered a sweet 22:21 defeat against Bosnia in Kazin, but continued with a 23:21 victory on Thursday.
Our international goalkeeper Magda Kepesidou put on a sensational performance with 15/37 (40%) appearances, including 9/19 from 6 meters (47%) and 2 on penalties, although the whole team has to thank for the fact that the defense is very good played second half with individual results 12-8!
The national team is now awaiting their opponent for April’s games, who after a draw will be among the last ten sides of EURO 2022, to be played from November 4-20, plus the Czech Republic
Another turn of -6 and a great finish
As in the first game, the national team did not start the game well, losing 14-8 in the 26th minute, 17-13 in the 38th minute and 18-15 in the 40th minute. Since then, she has been recruiting with Magda Kepesidou as a cornerstone again their very good defense.
First, the “Blue-Whites” equalized with a 3-0 run in the 46th minute with two goals from Zygoura and one from Fragou to 18:18. Despite Bosnia’s renewed lead with 20:18 (50th) and 21:19 (51st), the national team equalized again in the 58th minute with two goals from Argyropoulou (21:21) and kept their concentration almost the entire last Quarter.
Bosnia’s goal that decided the game 22-21 came when Demić decided everything at 59-45.
