Former handball player Mary Tarasi has died of cancer at the age of 42.
The news of her death spread sadness Mary Tarasis. The former Athenian and daughter of veteran Panathinaikos footballer, Costas TarasisShe died at the age of 42 after a battle with cancer.

The Hellenic Handball Federation announces in an atmosphere of sadness that Mary Tarasis has passed away today at the age of just 42 after a brave battle against a terminal illness.
OHE says a shocked farewell to a great player, a rare girl whose presence made the sport of handball that she loved and adored so shine shine.
The news of her death spread sadness among all those fortunate enough to know and work with her.
The daughter of a veteran soccer player and academy coach to Panathinaikos Kostas Tarasis, Mary was involved in sports from a young age.
She chose handball during her school days and played in Koropi, Paradisos Amarousiou, DIKEA Nea Ionia, GAS Kamaterou and Athenaikos while being a coach in infrastructure departments of Vrilissi, Athenaikos, AEK and Leonidas Agioi Anargyro.
The President Kostas Gandis, the members of the Board of Directors of OHE, the First Vice-President of EOE Stelios Angeloudis, the staff and the press office of the association are shocked and send their warmest and best wishes to the relatives of Mary Tarasis and of course her 7-year-old and only daughter most sincere condolences from daughter Konstantina, who should find the strength to grow at such a tender age, is experiencing this great loss.
