Olympiacos meets PAOK in the big derby of the 7th round of the handball premiere (November 12, 5:00 p.m.).
Full action for the Handball Premier Championship, because on Saturday afternoon (November 12th) six games will be played as part of the 7th round.
The big derby of the 7th game day of the handball premier will be held in the indoor stadium of Ilioupolis. Olympiakos, third on 10 points, comes off a European qualifier and a win at home to Vrilissi. In the end, PAOK managed to draw against AEK at home and remain at the top of the table with Union.
THE Kostas Kotanidis (Olympiakos goalkeeper) said: “It’s an important game. PAOK comes from a positive result against AEK. We’ve prepared properly and we’re 100% ready. I think it’s going to be a hard-fought game. We’ll do our best and I think we can do with the People on our side will win, which will bring us closer to the top. Certainly in derbies it’s the defense that counts, but in modern handball attack is more important.”
For his part, Nikolas Koukmisis (PAOK playmaker) said: “We performed well against AEK. We will definitely have to deal with the fatigue as the game against Olympiakos is the third in 7 days. It will be even more difficult than on Wednesday because we are playing against last year’s champions and that even away. We have a good mentality, we work well and I believe that we can cope with the demands of the game. The games with AEK and Olympiakos are a challenge for us, especially to show that we play against them on an equal footing be able.”
The 7th match day of the handball premier starts with a particularly important game, as Aeropos welcomes Diomedes Argos. The hosts, who have four points after six games, need the win to move away from bottom of the table, while Diomedes, who has 8 points on the 5th place, will fight for the European ticket.
HANTH and ASE Doukas face off in Thessaloniki The hosts have just one home win in the league against Aeropos and will be looking to use their home ground to move from bottom of the table. On the other hand, Doukas has regained his morale after dominating last day’s match and wants a similar sequel to continue his upward trajectory.
A very big game will take place in Naoussa with the aim of staying in the division and not only with Zafirakis Naoussa playing Ionian NF. The visitors have found a rhythm and are coming from two wins in a row, while Zafirakis also played a good match against PAOK after the great double in Vrilissia, but lost easily in Drama. The hosts will start all-out while Ionikos will miss three serious absences as Butos, Balaskas and Sotiris Aivaliotis remain in Athens.
After the draw in Mikra against PAOK, AEK will be looking to get back on track and stay top of the table against Drama ’86. The game will be played at Byron’s indoor arena due to Kasimati Hall’s commitment to other sporting events. The injured Jukic is missing for AEK. Drama, who is alone fourth in the table with nine points, will be absent on several occasions as Tungelidis, Kotsamarikoglou, Demertzidis, Kovoglanidis and young Kavazis, who has unfortunately torn his cruciate ligament, are absent.
With three points in their first six league games, the Pylaia team desperately needs a win against Vrilissia to escape the danger zone and live up to the expectations of those who have come to expect leadership from them.
Coming from defeats against Aeropos and Diomedes, the Thessaloniki team lost ground in the standings. On the contrary, Vrilissia tried to surprise against Olympiakos (28:29) on Wednesday and showed once again that they have a strong team that fights in all games. The previous visit to Thessaloniki, which was accompanied by the double against CHANTH, will serve as a guide for the Vrilissia team.
