Women’s handball: PAOK and Rebirth excluded from the EHF European Cup
PAOK was defeated 28-23 by Gminy (Poland) and Anagennisi Artas lost to ZORK 25-31, with the two Greek teams saying goodbye to the EHF European Cup.
PAOK Mateco was eliminated from the continuation of the EHF European Women’s Cup with two defeats against Gminy Kobierzyce.
The “two-headed” of the North, despite the good performance and the 26:23 defeat in Poland, which left promises and important hopes of qualifying for the “16” of the competition, did not succeed in Thessaloniki, losing again 28:23.
Eventually, Renaissance’s course was included in the European Cup. The Arta team was defeated at home by the Serbian ZORK 25-31, in the second game for the third round and together with the loss in the first game they said goodbye to the institution.
The guests set the pace right from the start and led by 8:17 at half-time. The Renaissance tried, but the situation created in the first part could not be undone.
