Alingsos – AEK 31-24: Lost the lead and eliminated from the EHF European Cup
Beaten 31-24 by Alingsos in Sweden, AEK lost their five-goal advantage from their opening game win, eliminating them in the 3rd round of the competition.
AEK spilled the beans on Sweden and with the 31-24 loss to Alingsos they were eliminated in the 3rd round of the European Cup.
The Union had prevailed 32:27 in the “Giorgos Kasimatis” hall and had traveled to Scandinavia to defend the five-goal difference and even hoped to win.
In fact, he led 6-4, 7-5 in the first quarter of the game but then found himself back on the scoreboard, but by…a controllable lead.
Alexis Albanou’s players managed to keep the gap between the two teams at two or three goals, but in the 51st minute the Swedes closed the gap to five goals for the first time (24:19).
