Handball premiere: easy wins for AEK, Olympiakos and PAOK
AEK, Olympiacos and PAOK continued their journey in handball premiere with wins, beating Aeropos, Pylaia and Ionikos respectively.
Olympiacos SFP/Omilos Xini (13/13) extended his winning streak and remained at the top of the handball premiere and the 14th matchday of the championship.
The Greek champions beat AESH Pylaia 36:27 and scored 26 points. Olympiacos were in full control in the first half, reaching +6 (6-12) after 20 minutes, but the hosts didn’t give up and equalized after 34 minutes (15-15), adding new tension to the game. With the outstanding Papavasilis (11 goals), the “Red-Whites” came away again with 15:18 (36th) and 17:23 (41st) and this time Pylaia could not come back.
AEK left Edessa with the points of victory as they defeated Aeropos 32-24 for the 14th matchday of Handball Premiers.
The hosts showed themselves to be very competitive within their powers, so that there was a draw (15:15) in the first half. In the second half, AEK gradually built up an advantage that they extended towards the end of the game to make the final score 24-32.
Sokolic was the winners’ top scorer with six goals, while Bulkin topped Aeropos with seven goals.
In a hard-fought game, PAOK defeated the handball premier Ionian Affidea very hard on the 14th day of play with 25:22 in the “Home of Handball”.
In the first half, the guests were two goals ahead (6:8, 7:9, 8:10), but also 12:13 better.
In the second half, the “two-headed” from the north increased the pace and with a 4:0 run they reached 16:13 in the 34th minute. Ionikos hit back and equalized shortly after the 18:18 in the 44th minute, and everything was decided in the last quarter, where PAOK made it 20:20 (49th) to 24:20 (59th) with another 4:0 run .) transformed and sealed the win both degrees.
