Big win for AEK in the final against Pylaia
AEK celebrated a great victory in A1 women’s handball with a 27:26 win against AESH Pylaias on matchday 13 and stayed alive in the fight for the playoffs.
The biggest victory of the women’s handball division was celebrated by AEK, who defeated AESH Pylaias in the 13th round of the A1 women’s championship with a goal almost in the air with 27:26.
A week before the Cup Final-4 in Igoumenitsa, Union showed that they are in good game form and will fight with all their might despite the underdog against Nea Ionia.
At the same time, it re-entered its claim of 4th place leading to the playoffs, having reached 14 points, with Anagennisi Artas remaining on 16 following their loss to Panorama.
Kerlidis equalized at 59-52 for Pylaia as the 7th player in attack and Gomes, who had a great game, scored her 12th goal from the cross on the exhale, capitalizing on the keeper’s late return.
For Pylaia’s team, 1st place is permanently lost as Ionia is at +6, while to reach 2nd place they have to beat Nea Ionia in Thessaloniki and PAOK has to lose the corresponding match.
