Greek handball mourns the loss of Tasos Xekoukoulotakis, the 19-year-old champion died in a car accident in the early hours of Sunday morning (February 19).

Crete, Greek handball and Greek sport in general have been mourning the loss of Tasos Xekoukoulotakis for several hours, the young champion died at the age of just 19 after a car accident in Crete.

This happened when the Orion Chania athlete lost control of the vehicle he was driving and as a result jumped to the other side of the road and found his death, with five firefighters rushing to the scene and immediately beginning operations to free him, it was noted that he was not alive when he was taken to the hospital.


“Our beloved Tasos has been hounded again.
