Handball premiere: AEK was first, victory for PAOK, Aeropos fifth
AEK defeated Doukas 37-26 to secure first place in the handball premier regular season. Fifth, Aeropus seeing Europe.
AEK did their duty, beating Doukas 37-26 to finish first in the regular season (41 points). This win also gave her absolute home advantage in the playoffs, where she will first meet 4th-placed Diomedis Argos, with qualification being judged on the two wins.
Against ASED, “Union” took the lead early on and ended the halftime with +10 (12:22). And in the replay the picture of the match did not change.
The win that sealed first place came for the yellow-blacks, while Doukas ended up 7th overall but has one more event ahead of them, the Final Four of the Cup which, among other things, claims a European ticket!
Aeropos was looking for a point in New Philadelphia and found it (27-27) against Ionian Affidea, finished 5th in the Handball Premier, which can give him a European ticket.
PAOK ended the regular season of the handball premier by beating Vrilissia 39:26 in Thessaloniki.
The “two-headed” of the north play as 3rd in the ranking in the playoffs against 2nd Olympiakos with a home disadvantage.
The qualification for the final will be decided on the two victories.
With this match Vrilissia said goodbye to the big division and next season they will compete in the A2 Men’s.
The Edessa team controlled the game the longest, with Bokarev having a terrible day scoring 13 goals, but Ionikos countered in the final to take a 26-25 lead!
Finally, the guests turned the game 26:27, with Handelis scoring the final with 27:27 with a penalty at 59:45.
Ionikos finished the championship level on 16 points with Zafiirakis, while if Pylaia wins against HANTH we will have a three-way draw with Thessaloniki team climbing to 8th place with Ionikos in 9th and Zafiirakis in 9th 10th place lies.
Bianco Monte Drama… did his duty by beating Diomedes Argos 32-30 in the final of the championship, but he didn’t smile as Aeropos Edessa, playing for two results at Ionikos’ home stadium, got the draw and occupies 5th place, which may lead to Europe.
Drama and Aeropos split on 21 points, but the Edessa team had two wins
in the matches between them, Drama remains in 6th place and Doukas in 7th place (18 points), who, however, holds fate in his own hands, since after qualifying he can win the European ticket against Aeropos through the cup the last four and in the semifinals he meets Diomedis Argos.
The Argos team finished the regular season in 4th place and will face AEK in the playoffs, who have a home disadvantage. The qualification for the final is determined by the two victories.
