Netherlands 32-26 Greece: The national team made history, qualifying for Euro 2024 despite the defeat
The men’s national handball team lost 32-26 to the Netherlands but secured qualification for the finals of Euro 2024 for the first time in their history.
After 19 years of waiting, the men’s national team is back among the elite of European and world handball and, for the first time in its history, celebrates a significant qualification for the final stages of the EURO!
Greece is in a major event for the second time since the 2005 World Cup, as it secured one of the 24 places at the 2024 European Championship, which will be held from 10th to 28th January in the mecca of handball Germany.
On the 6th and final match day of the EURO 2024 qualifying phase, our national team suffered a sweet 26:32 defeat against the Netherlands at the Topsportscentrum in Almere.
Greece, with their excellent presence in the group where they collected 6 points and of course the magnificent 32-28 win over the Netherlands in Chalkida, won 3rd place and qualified as one of the top four 3rds of all groups.
