Premiere with left for AEK, 30:21 defeat against Gornik
AEK was beaten 30-21 by Gornik in Poland and entered the EHF European League group on the left.
AEK held Gornik for a half. The Poles prevailed 30:21 and took advantage of their start in the second 30 minutes when they built a double-digit difference.
Union managed to stay close to the score in the first 30 minutes and didn’t let the home team escape. However, at the start of the second 30 minutes, the Poles went on a 10-4 run to come away with a 26-16 lead in the 45th minute.
AEK then tried in vain to close the gap, Gornik won 30:21. The Union’s first goalscorer was Martinovic with five goals, Madalinics and Liapis with four each.
