AEK – Hannover 29-34: The Union fought back, but the Germans took the victory
AEK fought against the strong Hannover team throughout the game, but the Germans prevailed 29:34 for the EHF European League.
AEK couldn’t get a big win against Hannover, the Germans won their group 34:29 EHF European League.
In its longest season, the game was a derby, with the two teams playing goal against goal. However, in the final, the Germans managed to escape 4-1, escape the scoreline and claim victory.
The Game: The game had a derby feel to it from the start, as you would expect from what the two teams showed in their previous game.
AEK maintained a one-goal lead until the 15th minute, when Hannover took a partial 2-0 lead with 8:10 to play. The Union responded immediately and the two teams played hand in hand until the end of the first half, which ended with the score at 16:16.
The two teams continued to go hand-to-hand on the scoreboard, with AEK Hannover only letting the score slip in the final quarter.
At this point, Hannover managed to increase the score from 27:28 to 27:33 and effectively end the game. Because AEK simply made the difference in the final.
